Have you ever stopped at the grocery store to take a look at the vast amount of anti-bacterial products available now? I was shopping yesterday at Target and as I passed by the hanging Purell dispenser on the wall I thought about how we got here. I remember when I was a kid we practiced the basics of germ defense. Cover your mouth when you cough, wash your hands regularly and don't pick your nose. Now there are wipes, gels, sprays you name it for your hands, your house and your body.
At first I fought what I thought was a germophobe fab, but I have to say I have fallen victim to this multi-million dollar addiction. I find myself using germ-x whenever given the opportunity. I'm not sure if I'm healthier or if I'm keeping my family healthier, but I know I try!
